Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Bala Steps Down As Katsina United Head Coach

Following Katsina United’s match against Sunshine Stars on Match Day 25 of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday, Bala Abubakar announced his resignation as head coach of the team.

The former Kwara United coach made the decision to leave because Katsina United had not honoured his contract and there was not a positive environment.

It has been alleged that since joining the club four months ago, Bala has not received his monthly salary.

In addition, angry Katsina United supporters attacked him twice, and the interim management did nothing to stop them. He was once saved by heavily armed security guards.

Bala wrote, “I humbly wish to resign my position as the Head Coach of Katsina United,” in his letter of resignation. This is a result of both the environment not being favourable and the noncompliance with my contractual obligations.
