Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Lobi Reclaim Top Spot As Shooting Get Only Away Win

Action returned for midweek games in the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL on Wednesday as the season is gradually coming to an end.

Shooting Stars away win against Doma United was the only away win recorded on Matchday 25 which produced a total of 22 goals scored.

There was goal in all the ten games played across various venues with Plateau United thumping against relegation threatened Gombe United as the highest victory of Matchday 25.

At the Aper Aku stadium, Lobi Stars earned a 3-2 victory over Rivers United and moved top spot.

After 10 minutes, Lobi Stars’ lead was doubled by Samuel Tiza, and 14 minutes later, Ukeme Williams tied the score for the visiting team.

Two minutes prior to halftime, Alao Danbani’s penalty kick gave the home team their lead again.

The third was added by Kumanga Suur two minutes prior to the hour.

Nine minutes remaining in regulation time saw Liberian winger Mark Gibson cut the deficit for Rivers United.

With a convincing 4-0 victory over Gombe United, former champions Plateau United rose to second place on the log.

For the home squad, Alexander Enejo scored the first goal, and Silas Nenrot finished with three goals.

Adams Olamilekan gave Remo Stars the victory in their 1-0 triumph over holders Enyimba in Ikenne.

Shooting Stars defeated Doma United 1-0 at Pantami Township Stadium to earn their first road victory of the year.

Just before halftime, Gideon Monday scored the game-winning goal.

After defeating Abia Warriors 2-0 in the oriental derby at the Awka City Stadium, Heartland halted their winless streak.

Heartland’s lead was established in the 20th minute by Onyekachi Okafor, and it was doubled four minutes later by Ikechukwu Mgbemene.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars and Rangers fought to a 1-1 draw in their Clash.

Sani Mubarak gave Pillars the lead at the halfway point, and Collins Ugwueze gave Rangers a reply in the 54th.

In Kaduna, Niger Tonardoes defeated Sporting Lagos 1-0 thanks to a goal from Akintunde Azeez.

In Akure, Sunshine Stars also triumphed 1-0 over Katsina United, with Ibrahim Yusuf scoring the game-winning goal four minutes before halftime.

In Ilorin, Kwara United defeats Bayelsa United 1-0.

Alao Mohammed’s goal in the fifteenth minute put the two teams apart that evening.
