Victor Osimhen will not play for Nigeria in their upcoming friendly against the Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mali.

Osimhen did not play in Sunday’s 1-1 tie between Napoli and Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

In the days leading up to the match, the striker hardly trained at all.

After the match, interim manager Francesco Calzona stated that the cause was an inflammation of the scar from a previous injury.

Since his name isn’t on the list of players Napoli released for international service, the 25-year-old hasn’t entirely healed from the injury.

For at least two weeks to restore his full fitness, the striker must now continue his recuperation at the Castel Volturno.

On Friday, March 22, at the Grand du Stade Marrakech, the Super Eagles will play Ghana.

Four days later, at the same location, the three-time African champions will take against Mali.
