Uganda Mayanja with brace as KCCA FC put four past Busoga United

Saidi Mayanja scored twice and Filbert Obenchan and Usama Arafat added the others as KCCA thrashed Busoga United 4-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Thursday.

KCCA’s 10th win in 21 matches and fourth in a row moved them one place up to seventh on 32 points in the Ugandan Premier League table. Busoga, whose consolation goal was scored by Franco Mungoma, were losing their 12th match in 21. It left them third from bottom on 17 points.

Obenchan’s 35th minute goal opened the scoring, with Mayanja doubling the advantage three minutes to the half time break. Man of the Match, Majanja, sealed his brace five minutes into the second half time before Arafat made it 4-0 two minutes later.

The visitors did pull one back through Mungoma 11 minutes from full time but KCCA, who came into this on the back of a 1-0 win over rivals Vipers, were never in danger.
