Uganda Muhammad Shaban score twice as KCCA FC thrash Mbarara City

KCCA FC and Maroons moved within six points of table leaders Kitara with deserved wins over visiting Mbarara City and Busoga United respectively.

First, Maroons saw off 9-man Busoga United 3-0 at Luzira with goals from Fred Amaku (brace) and Abraham Tusubira.The visitors had skipper Charles Sunday Mulanda and Sajjabi sent off for bad fouls in the second half as their relegation survival hit yet another block.

Maroons stay 7th with 38 points after 24 games while Busoga United are third from bottom with 18 points from 23 matches. At Lugogo, exciting KCCA thrashed Mbarara City 4-0 in a one sided encounter that saw Muhammad Shaban score twice with Ashraf Mugume and Ettiene Katenga getting one apiece.

Like Maroons, KCCA are on 38 points with six matches to play and have now won five games on the bounce.

The Ankole Lions remain 11th with 28 points, 10 above the relegation zone. Action in the league continues on Friday with the top of the table clash as Kitara host Vipers SC at Masindi Municipal Stadium.
