Nigeria Nnadozie Nominated For D1 Arkema League Goalkeeper Of The Season Award

Chiamaka Nnadozie, a Nigerian goalie, is a contender for the D1 Arkema League goalkeeper of the season award.

The French Professional Players Union recommended Nnadozie for the individual honour.

For the individual prize, the Super Falcons goalkeeper will compete against Girondis Bordeaux’s Mylene Chavas, Olympique Lyon’s Christiane Endler, GPSO 92 ISSY’s Cosette Morche, and Paris Saint-Barbora Germain’s Votikova.

This season, the 21-year-old has been one of Paris FC’s best performances in the French first division.

In 19 league outings for her small team, the youthful goalkeeper has kept 13 clean sheets.

Nnadozie’s heroics in goal have also helped Paris FC qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League next season.

Nnadozie joined Paris FC from Rivers Angels in Nigeria in 2020 and has played 34 league games for the club.

She is the youngest goalkeeper in FIFA Women’s World Cup history, having kept a clean sheet against Korea in France in 2019, at the age of 18 and 186 days. The game was won 2-0 by the Super Falcons.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics named her the world’s seventh best goalkeeper in December 2021. (IFFHS).
