According to information released by our colleagues from BBC, Jamaica’s sports minister Natalie Neita-Headley has vowed to improve the country’s drug testing after a visit from the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada).
After the visit, Jamaica’s drug testing regime was revealed inadequate since Asafa Powell, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Sherone Simpson all recently tested positive for banned substances.
Jadco was criticised by its former executive director Renee Anne Shirley, who had claimed testing in the run-up to the London Olympics was virtually non-existent.
“They had very fruitful discussions with our team and have committed to working in closer partnership with Jadco to make it not only world class but also best in class, “ Neita-Headkey said.
Notice that the Kenyan Athletics head Asaiah Kiplagat nevertheless vowed his athletes have no problem with drugs.
