Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi paid a courtesy visit to Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday night and the Ghana leader ordered Sports Minister to start negotiations with him over a possible nationality switch.

Hudson-Odoi is currently in Accra on holydays after winning the UEFA Champions league 2021 with Ghana.

His visit in the country of his parents comes after he was snubbed by England coach Gareth Southgate in Three Lions squad for the Euros 2021 this summer.

And it seems that the 20-year is on his way to become a Black Stars as President Akufo-Addo charged Youth and Sports Minister Honorable Mustapha Usif.

“On Monday, 7th June 2021, Ghanaian-born Chelsea footballer, Callum Hudson-Odoi, paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of our nation’s presidency,” President Akufo-Addo said, as per Ghanasoccernet.

“Amongst others, I urged the Minister for Youth and Sports to explore the possibility of having Callum switch nationality, and play for the Black Stars.”

Callum Hudson-Odoi who didn’t play more than three games with England squad before he turned 21, is eligible to represent Ghana at international level according to new FIFA rules.

However, he will have to wait until November 2022 before wearing the Ghana outfit as his last game with the Three Lions was on November 2019.
