Africa Emmanuel Emenike: the Nigerian acquitted in the case of match-fixing in Turkey!

Emmanuel Emenike, the Nigerian has been cleared in the case of match-fixing in Turkey! The Istanbul 16th Criminal Chamber found that the evidence was not sufficient enough to condemn the striker of Spartak Moscow.

The prosecution has required one to three years in prison against Emenike, accusing him of faking an injury in May 2011 in order not to play with his club Karabükspor (Turkish 1st division) in a championship game against Fenerbahçe.The player has then signed a few days later a four-year contract with Fenerbahce.

In total, 93 people were tried and many of them convicted for fake meetings of the 1st and 2nd divisions during the 2010-2011 season.

The Fenerbahce president, Aziz Yildirim was sentenced to six years and three months in prison.

Justice has then decided to leave Emmanuel Emenike alone.
