Africa Hossam Ghaly: The Egyptian signs in Belgium

LIERSE_GHALY_SIGNATURE_030713-300x169Hossam Ghaly left Egypt to find the Belgian championship. Vacated by Al-Ahly, the 31-year-old will rebound in the Jupiler Pro League. The midfielder has reached an agreement with the club Lierse. The Egyptian international has signed a one year contract with an option for an additional year with the Belgian club.
The player had been evolving for three seasons in his country in Al Ahly but he also played for Tottenham for 5 seasons. He also passed through Feyenoord and Derby County.
Ghaly has 43 selections with the Pharaohs but has not played for his country since October 16, 2012 against Tunisia.
In March 2010, Ghaly has been tested positive by the doping test when he played with Al-Nassr. He was cleared a month later after a second expert opinion. The laboratory in Malaysia who had made the test was disbarred in 2011 for lack of jurisdiction by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
