AFCON UGANDA: Cranes see of South Sudan,

still leads Group B

Uganda saw off South Sudan 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Thursday afternoon to cement their Group B leadership in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Halid Lwaliwa scored the only goal of the match for the hosts.

Uganda have seven points from three games and their leadership in the group depends on the outcome of another meeting between second placed Burkina Faso and Malawi later tonight.

The Stallions of Burkina Faso go into this other Group B match with four points from two games and a win by a big margin can see them go top on goal aggregate.

In this game, Uganda coach Jonathan McKinstry named all foreign land-based players in his squad including debutant South End United’s right back Elvis Bwomono.
