Nigeria NFF referees committee chairman backs Madu, Iyorhe inclusion for 2023 WWC

 

Chairman of NFF Referees Committee, Alhaji Rabiu Inuwa has reiterated that they will give Ndidi Madu and Mimise Iyorhe the help they need to officiate in FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Australia and New Zealand.

Both Nigerian woman referees were shortlisted for pre-selection with the aid of FIFA.

 

Reacting to the pre-selection of the duo of FIFA badged referees for the Women’s World Cup in 2023, Alhaji Inuwa mentioned that the NFF will work assiduously with Nigeria Referees Association to ensure that the two girls make the final reduce and proceed to officiate at the world cup in 2023.

Already, the two ladies have been selected to officiate at the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) and they will also be busy officiating in the Nigeria Professional Football League season billed to kick off in December. 

Aside that they will also be involved in continental games to sharpen their skills and fitness ahead of the World Cup,” Inuwa told Completesports.com.

Those of us in the NFF Referees Committee have absolute confidence in the ability of the two ladies to perform excellently well if they make the cut. 

“Ndidi and Mimisen are good and can hold their own against the best in the world.

” I am confident that they will be in Australia/ New Zealand to do us proud.”

Alhaji Inuwa who is additionally the chairman of Kano State Football Association continued: 

Those of us at the Federation [NFF] and the NRA are leaving no stone unturned in a concerted effort to make sure that our referees get the cognizance they deserve at intercontinental and continental stages”

 

Ndidi Madu is one of the eight women centre referees from Africa pre-selected for the World Cup, whilst Mimisen Iyorhe is amongst the 10 assistant referees picked from Africa.
