Africa Soccer Former Egypt Assistant Coach Mahmoud Fayez To Join Hector Cuper In DR Congo

DR Congo have appointed this week former Egypt national and Valencia manager Hector Cuper to be their  head coach. And it is reported that former Egypt national team assistant coach Mahmoud Fayez will be joining the appointed coach at the head of the Leopards.

Cuper’s main mission will be to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after they failed to reach the Africa Cup of Nations finals under former head coach Christian Nsengi-Biembe.

The Leopards were drawn against Benin, Madagascar and Tanzania for their World Cup qualifying group. And they will start their journey next September against Benin. Mahmoud Fayez, who was in Cuper’s staff when he was in charge of the Pharaohs and then again when the two-time UEFA Champions League finalist moved to Uzbekistan, will now join him in his new adventure.

Fayez announced on his Facebook page that after working with consultant for the Emirati FA and the UAE national team, he hopes that they can reach the World Cup. He then revealed that he’s ready for his new role and hopes they can qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
