Cameroon striker and AFCON 2021 top scorer Vincent Aboubakar said Egypt and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah is a good player but he is yet to be at Kylian Mbappe’s level.

Aboubakar has been outstanding for the Indomitable Lions so far in the tournament scoring six goals. That is more than 50% of the goals scored by Antonio Conceiçao’s team (11).

Speaking to RFI ahead of the second Africa Cup of nations semi-final which will see his country, Cameroon taking on Egypt, Aboubakar was asked how he sees Salah today after the AFCON 2017 final where Pharaohs bowed to the Lions.

And the former FC Porto striker said his view of Salah didn’t change as the latter doesn’t impress him.

He furthermore stated that Salah who has 23 goals and 9 assist in 26 games across all competitions this season with Liverpool is not at Kylian Mbappe’s level.

“I see him as before”, Vincent Aboubakar said.

“He is having a great season in the Premier League, he is helping his country to advance in the competition. I wish him a lot of luck. May the best win !

“He doesn’t impress me much. I say it clearly because I’m an honest person and I have my way of seeing things. If he impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn’t impress me much.

“He’s a good player, he scores a lot but he doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game. Of course, he’s doing good stuff in the Premier League because he’s been in a team that’s been there for years. He’s a good player but not at the level of some like Mbappé”, he added.
