Egyptian Players abroad Olympique Lyonnais Join FC Girondins And Atalanta In The Race Of Signing Mostafa Mohamed

Egyptian international Mostafa Mohamed had a spectacular debut season with 09 goals in 17 appearances after joining Galatasaray from Zamalek last season.

Many of the Lions’ fans, pinned their hopes on the Egyptian going into the new season, especially after the departure of Henry Onyekuru and Radamel Falcao.

However, the 22-time Turkish champions are having one of their worst-ever seasons in their history. The club currently sits 13th on the league table with just three games left to go.

And Mostafa Mohamed is no different from the situation there, having scored just 07 goals in 38 games while starting just 15 times all season.

But still, Mohamed managed to attract many clubs’ eyes from all around the globe. This includes French outfit FC Girondins de Bordeaux and Serie A outfit Atalanta.

And the latest to join the list of potential suitors are French giants Olympique Lyonnais, who currently sit seventh in the Ligue 1.

According to the French news outlet FootMeracto, Mohamed impressed the club’s Techincal Director Bruno Cheyrou during Galatasaray’s most recent defeat against Sivasspor on Sunday.

The report added that despite Kerem Aktürkoğlu’s impressive performance during the game, it was Mostafa Mohamed who attracted the eyes of the former Liverpool midfielder.

If successful, Mostafa will become the fifth-ever Egyptian to play in Ligue 1 after Ahmed Hossam Mido, Hosny Abd Rabo, Ahmed Abou Mosalem, and Mazhar Abdelrahman.

He will also become the first-ever Egyptian to represent the seven-time French champions, who currently sit seventh in the league table, five points away from the European places.
