Addressing fans on his arrival this week, the newly appointed Al Ahly coach Ricardo Soares revealed his pride in coaching such a big team and promised to win the remaining titles of the current season.

The Reds are now competing in the Egyptian Premier League, the 2022 Egypt Cup, and 2021 Egypt Cup which was postponed from the previous season.

“We now need to win the three available titles in the remaining two months of the season.” Soares told the Ahly official Facebook page.

“I am proud to be here. And I promise to do everything for Ahly. My agent offered me the Ahly negotiations, and I was happy with that. Because it is one of the largest clubs in Africa and the world.” He added.

Ahly who are third on the league table with three matches in hand, lost 3-2 to Smouha on Wednesday in the Egyptian Premier League. And they are expected to continue playing a game approximately every three days in all competitions in the upcoming period.

“We know that we have a busy schedule ahead of us. So it will be difficult to change the way we play in training. But I promise everyone that there will be a clear improvement in the team’s performance after this busy period of matches.” Said the 47-year-old Portuguese coach.

“I do not like to talk about myself too much. I prefer everyone to see my work on the field. But I know the players will give their all,” He added.

Ahly have officially announced the signing of Soares for two years on Thursday without disclosing the financial details. He will start his mission with the game against Petrojet in Egypt Cup semi-final on Saturday.
