Zambian midfielder Enock Mwepu has retired from football on Monday morning after being diagnosed a hereditary heart condition, Brighton announced in a statement.
The 24-year old who started his career at NAPSA Stars in 2016, joined Red Bull Salzburg the following year before being transferred to English Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion last season.
However, he can no longer continue playing football with due to health issues as announced by Brighton on Monday.

“Enock Mwepu has been forced to end his playing career following the diagnosis of a hereditary heart condition”, a statement from Brighton reads.
“The condition, which can worsen over time, would put Enock at an extremely high risk of suffering a potentially fatal cardiac event, if he were to continue playing competitive football.”
Enock Mwepu made 27 appearances for Brighton, scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists while having 7 goals in 24 caps with Zambia national team since his debut in September 2017.
