Serie A Giroud signs Contract Extension With AC Milan

The France international’s contract with AC Milan has reportedly been extended, with Giroud apparently agreeing to continue with the team through the conclusion of the next campaign.

Giroud, who left Chelsea to join Milan in 2021, has made 76 appearances and scored 27 goals.

In place of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has only made four appearances this season after a protracted injury layoff, the 36-year-old has scored 13 goals this year. He has started as Milan’s primary striker.

Giroud scored Milan’s first goal against Serie A leaders Napoli on Tuesday, advancing Milan to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2007.

Victor Osimhen scored a goal for Napoli in the dying seconds, but Milan held on to advance with a 2-1 overall victory.

Milan, who are now fourth in Serie A, will either play Benfica or Inter, their local rivals, in the semifinals.
