FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP South Africa Join To Bid For 2027 Women’s World Cup

The 2027 Women’s World Cup has received four proposals, FIFA announced on Monday the hosts will be chosen during FIFA’s Congress in May 17 2024.

While the United States and Mexico are part of the other joint proposal, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands have submitted a joint expression of interest to host the competition.

The other two nations to offer were Brazil and South Africa.

All interested nations will receive the Bidding Agreement from FIFA, and they have until May 19 to confirm their participation.

We are thrilled by the expressions of interest received, not least because they come from member associations with a strong football tradition representing four confederations…” FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura said.

“All member associations can rely on the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

On May 17, 2024, the FIFA Congress will choose the hosts through popular vote.

The 2023 edition of the competition, which begins on July 20, is co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The 2026 World Cup for men will be shared by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
