At the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023, Egypt’s U23 captain, Ibrahim Mohamed Adel, was instrumental in helping his team defeat a 10-man Mali squad 1-0.

Adel was named the deserving TotalEnergies Man of the Match for the second time in the competition as a result of his amazing performance.

Adel remarked, “I am pleased to receive another Man of the Match award,” expressing his happiness.

“The fact that I’ve achieved this award twice inspires me to work even harder.

The squad captain discussed the match afterward and acknowledged the difficulty presented by a formidable Mali team.

He underlined the significance of earning the most points possible against such formidable opponents.

“Defeating Mali was no easy feat, and we are content with our performance.

“Now, we must regroup and prepare for our final group match against Gabon,” Adel added.

The reigning champions are now focused on the next round of the competition after securing their first victory.

The team’s confidence has surely increased as a result of Adel’s outstanding leadership and goal-scoring ability as they want to build on this triumph in their forthcoming match against Gabon.
