Uganda Done Deal: Goalkeeper Otim seals transfer switch to URA FC

Uganda goalkeeper Denis Otim has sealed a transfer move to Premier League outfit URA FC.

The Tax Collectors announced the arrival of Otim from Express FC on a two-year deal, in a statement that stated: “URA FC is delighted to announce that goalkeeper Denis Otim has joined the club on a 2 years contract,” adding: “Otim joins in from Express FC and he is expected to beef up our goalkeeping department.”

Speaking on being unveiled, Otim said: “I am extremely happy to join URA because it’s one of the big clubs in Uganda. It’s a new Challenge for me as I come to a club where there is a competition which I know will push me to work harder. I want to help the club win the trophy in my first season because I am a winner and I want to keep many clean sheets.”

The 23-year-old Otim is a Ugandan Premier League and Cecafa Kagame Cup winner with Express FC having achieved the milestone in 2021. He is also a former Uganda Hippos goalkeeper having featured at different tournaments like Afcon U20 Qualifiers between 2018-19 and Cecafa U20 Championship in 2020 in Uganda.

Otim was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that took part in the Tri Nation tournament in Libya in 2022 as well as the Uganda Cranes Chan team that played in the qualifiers in 2022. He becomes the seventh signing of the club in the ongoing summer window after teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani, and Godfrey Sekibengo as well as Aliro Moses Okabo and Ibrahim Wammanah.
