FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD CUP FIFAWWC: Zambia’s starting XI to face Spain in Group C battle

Zambia have released their starting XI to face Spain in the second match of the Fifa Women’s World Cup at Eden Park on Wednesday.

Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape replaced goalkeeper Catherine Musonda, who was red-carded during the 5-0 defeat against Japan. Musonda, who was shown two yellow cards, has been replaced by Eunice Sakala.

In the opening match against Japan, the Copper Queens paraded as Musonda; Belemu, Musase, Mweemba, Tembo; Susan Banda; Kundananji, Lungu, Katongo, Mapepa; Barbra Banda. Musonda will not be in this match, as he was sent off for a double caution.

Meanwhile, Spain’s previous line-up in the opener against Costa Rica revolved around Misa; Batlle, Paredes, Ivana Andres, Olga Carmona; Aitana Bonmati, Teresa Abelleira, Athenea del Castillo; Salma Paralluelo, Jennifer Hermoso and Esther Gonzalez.

This will be the first meeting between Spain and Zambia in all senior competitions. In World Cup, Spain has faced only one African opponent, in 2019 they faced South Africa, defeating them 3-1. The match will be played at Eden Park, a stadium located in Auckland (New Zealand). The stadium has a capacity of 48,276 spectators.
