A dejected Desire Oparanozie took to her social media to apologize to Nigerians after missing the first penalty for Super Falcons during their 2-4 defeat to England earlier today.

The Super Falcons had the opportunity to make history by qulifiy for the Women’s World Cup quarter-finals.

However, they were unlucky in the penalty shootout session with Desire Oparaonize who was the first shooter missing her’s.

The Wuhan forward who came during extra time for the penalty shootout session could have given the lead to Nigeria at that time as England which kicked off the session missed also.

Disappointment took over her after the final whistle with Three Lionesses winning 4-2.

The 29-year old then apoligized on social media.

“Sad day. Very disappointing to have lost through penalties, and even more disappointing not to have converted mine. And for this I deeply apologise”,Oparanozie wrote.
