Arsenal Arteta Not Ruling Out Another Signing Before Transfer Deadline

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, stated on Friday that the club is happy with its early transfers ahead of the upcoming Premier League season but has not ruled out making additional signings before the window shuts.

In order for them to participate in preseason, Arsenal acquired Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber during the close season for a combined price of more than 200 million pounds.

David Raya, a custodian from Brentford, has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Aaron Ramsdale by the north London club, who finished second in the league last season. However, Arteta has kept his options open.

“Before Saturday’s home league opener against Nottingham Forest, Arteta informed the media that there was no new information on any incoming players.

Regarding any additional transfer activity, he said, “Right now we’re not going to do anything but the window is obviously highly unpredictable.

“Things that we probably don’t want to happen can happen. However, we are content with what we have.

Although Arteta emphasised the importance of adding squad depth with the club back in the Champions League this season, Arsenal has an overcrowded roster with players anticipated to leave before the window ends on September 1.

The whole point of it is to have more interactions with players who can make us better,” he added. “We’ve been trying to increase the depth of the squad and the quality as well.”

When asked if he could keep the entire team happy despite fierce rivalry for positions, Arteta responded, “Football is a collaborative sport and only 11 players play and there are another 11 players who are usually not satisfied with the scenario.

“It depends on how people respond to that and how they accept their position because that will alter. There will be a game every three days.

“That reveals their level of professionalism, whether they participate in team activities or not. Whether they play or not, I want the team’s members to enjoy themselves when they win.

Gabriel Jesus, a striker, is still out after having knee surgery, according to Arteta, but Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jorginho are back from their muscular injuries and are available.
