Africa Soccer Pitso Mosimane left jobless after being sacked by Al Wahda

United Arab Emirate Pro League side Al-Wahda have officially parted ways with Pitso Mosimane, the club announced on Friday.

“Al-Wahda terminates its contract with Pitso Mosimane by mutual consent,” a club statement read, adding: “Al-Wahda Football Club Company announces that it has reached an agreement with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane to terminate the contract by mutual consent between the two parties.”

Mosimane will be replaced by Dutch trainer Arno Buitenweg as the interim head coach until a permanent replacement is found at the UAE club. Mosimane joined Al Wahda in July 2023, He left the team sitting in fifth place in the UAE Pro League, five points behind the leader table leaders Al Wasl after 10 matches — he also led the club in the UAFA Arab Champions League but got eliminated by Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab in the quarterfinals

Earlier this month the South African manager was hospitalized immediately in Abu Dhabi due to sudden shortness of breath Mosimane is reportedly wanted by several giants across the African continent. Some reports suggested he was approached by Egyptian giants Zamakek SC, others report South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs is also highly interested in hiring him.
