Cameroon FA president Samuel Eto’o expressed satisfaction despite Indomitable Lions’ 1-1 draw in Benghazi against Libya on their second 2026 World Cup qualifying match.

Rigobert Song’s team beat Mauritius 3-0 at home for their first game and was confident enough to make another convincing match.

However, Libya turned to be a solid team at their home ground and managed to share points with them.

Even though that was not a good result for Cameroon regarding their standing, Samuel Eto’o is happy for the players’ performance.

“The players of our national team, through their resilience, their courage, in unprecedented adversity, were able to respond”, he wrote on social media.

“Yesterday. In memory of a former footballer, you gave us an unforgettable moment. We saw a national team, ours, which knew how to control its match in intensity and quality. The offensive and defensive transition phases were mastered.
