Nigeria Atune Targets NPFL Promotion, Continental Ticket With Warri Wolves

Warri Wolves FC Technical Adviser Jolimi Atune has reiterated that the Warri-based side is focused on the mission to gain Promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League and pick a continental ticket from the Federations Cup.

Coach Atune in a post-match interview at the Kwale Township Stadium, a new home for the Seasiders this Season said the 2-0 home win against Solution FC in the team’s first league game this season was a pacesetter for better results to come.

He said the win will motivate the team and act as a moral booster towards positive results in the team’s next game.

“It is a good one having a win in our first game. Often, the first games are pace seaters and are very difficult. So I am very very happy.”

“It will motivate us to go away and bring a point or better still all three points. It is very possible and we are hopeful.”

Speaking on expectations for the Season, the former U17 gaffer says the team is on a mission to return to the NPFL as well as pick up a continental ticket in the Federations Cup.

“This season, we are crying that we must get to NPFL, and in the federation cup, God willing, we will get the continental ticket. That is the Mission of the Team for this Season”

Warri Wolves in the Nigeria National League, NNL Match day two ( but it was the First for the Season) defeated Solution FC 2-0.

After a goalless first half, the Seasiders finally registered their first goal of the season through new boy Buchi Wehere in the 76th minute and Christain Izuchukwu sealed Victory for the Seasiders with a 90th-minute show of brilliance as he connected to a long pass straight from his defense to beat the visitor’s goalie who was caught off his post.

Warri Wolves FC next heads to Osun State on a date against Osun United.
