Women Football WAFCON Qualifier: Harambee Starlets held by Botswana

Harambee Starlets were held to a 1-1 draw against Botswana in their first leg 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifier encounter at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday.

Keitunetse Dithede opened the scoring for Botswana in the 36th minute while Marjoline Nekesa seized the penalty opportunity, equalising the scores in the 48th minute. The second half saw both sides attempt to break the deadlock, but the full-time whistle sealed the scores at 1-1.

Starlets will now shift their focus on the second leg in Botswana, set to be played on Tuesday, December 5. The team travels to Botswana on Sunday, December 3.
