Nigeria Super Falcons have secured their spot to next year’s Women African Cup of Nations as they bounced back from a goal to defeat Cape Verde 2-1 in Praia.
The nine-time Champions headed there the game on the back of their 5-0 bashing of Cape Verde in Abuja as they qualified on 7-1 aggregates.
Cape Verde took the lead in the 8th minute through Ivania Moreira to shock the Super Falcons.

The first half ended 1-0 despite the Super Falcons dominated possession but we’re unable to get the breakthrough.
The second half resumed with much intensity from the visitors as Cape Verde sat deep into their own half allowing the Super Falcons to pile up pressure on them.
Justin Madugu brought in Esthe Okoronkwo in the second half and the substitute found the back of the net in the 55 minutes but the flag was raised for an offside.
Seven minutes later, Esther levelled for the Super Falcons before captain, Rasheedat Ajibade sealed the victory for Nigeria.
Following the conclusion of the second legs of the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers, the Super Falcons joined 11 other countries for the 2024 tournament with no debutant.
