AFCON AFCON 2023: Peseiro Confirm Iheanacho Will Join Team In Lagos

Following his recovery from a muscular injury, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro revealed that Kelechi Iheanacho will now travel with the rest of the team to the AFCON.

After suffering an injury at his English club, the striker remained behind to completely recuperate in time for Saturday’s AFCON opener in Abidjan.

Kelechi reaches the Ivory Coast. Peseiro stated, “He has completed his treatment with Leicester City.

The Super Eagles’ 2023 AFCON campaign will begin on Sunday, January 14 at 3:00 p.m. against Equatorial Guinea.

On Thursday, January 18, they will play the hosts, Ivory Coast, and on Monday, January 22, they will play Guinea-Bissau in their final group encounter.
