Real Madrid Vinicius Stars As Madrid Thrash Barca To Lift Super Cup

Real Madrid defeated fierce rivals Barcelona 4-1 in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to win the Spanish Super Cup with Vinicius Jr. scoring a hat-trick in the first half of the match.

Real Madrid dominated every facet of the match and toyed with the winners from the previous year, who were unable to contain Vinicius.

Real finished with 10 men after defender Ronald Araujo was sent off in the 71st minute for a second card following two fouls on the Brazilian.

Two close-range goals from Vinicius in the seventh and tenth minutes were followed by a rebound goal from Robert Lewandowski in the 33rd to cut the gap.

In the 39th minute, Vinicius increased Real Madrid’s lead with a penalty kick after Araujo had fouled him inside the box.

The goal was a hammer blow for Barcelona who were dominated in the second half and Rodrygo struck Real’s fourth from a rebound in the 64th minute.
