Transfers DONE DEAL: Marquinhos moves to Brazilian top-flight side Fluminense

Arsenal play Marquinhos has joined Brazilian top-flight side Fluminense on loan until January 2025.

The 20-year-old forward has recently returned from France, where he spent the first half of the season on loan with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes. In recent weeks, the Brazilian youth international has been in Venezuela representing his U23 national team in the 2024 CONMEBOL pre-Olympic Tournament.

Marquinhos will be joining the reigning Copa Libertadores champions, who won the prestigious South American trophy for the first time in their history when they defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 back in November 2023.

The predominantly left-sided forward announced himself to Gunners supporters by scoring a fine goal on his debut in our 2-1 away win over FC Zurich in their opening Europa League match of the 2022-23 campaign, having arrived from Sao Paulo the previous summer.

During his time with the Gunners, Marquinhos also had a spell on loan in the Championship with Norwich City last season.
