Ligue 1: Marseille chooses Gasset as coach after sacking Gattuso

After the dismissal of Gennaro Gattuso, Olympique de Marseille has announced that it chooses former Ivory Coast coach Jean-Louis Gasset.

Gennaro Gattuso will therefore not have fared well in Marseille. The Italian coach will no longer coach OM, as we revealed to you this morning, following the defeat in Brest on Sunday evening. A defeat which further underlined the lack of character of his team, and the lack of revolt. A revolt is what the supporters and the club’s staff are waiting for, who have been working since last night on a new alternative, already the 3rd this season.

Remember that Gattuso replaced Marcelino, who was supposed to make Igor Tudor forget. Reports said the priority track is called Jean-Louis Gasset.

Gasset is above all a great experience of Ligue 1, a characteristic sought by OM. The coach was thus able to effectively turn around a Saint-Etienne team that was adrift, in a relegated position in November 2017, which he had taken to 7th place in L1. Long assistant coach to Laurent Blanc, at Bordeaux and PSG, where he was very appreciated by the players, he also knew how to lead a career as a high-quality head coach, where his methods, with a lot of proximity to the players, have never been denied.
