Pep Guardiola says Phil Foden is already a world class talent.The City playmaker has been superb for much of the season and is now arguably playing the best football of his career.

His match-winning goal against Bournemouth was his fifth of the month and he was again outstanding throughout another difficult test on the road.

Asked if Foden’s goal contributions were important, Guardiola said: “Forget about the goals – of course they are important – but do you know how he played? How he controlled and accelerated. He has become already a top class football player.

“From a little boy, now he has become already Phil, a world class, top player. He’s so good. He can play everywhere, especially in the central position and play really, really good.”

Guardiola further said he has nothing but admiration for his entire squad. Once again, the Blues were pushed hard by a team lower in the table, but Guardiola said his players keep delivering, year after year – and even he is amazed by their consistency and performance levels.
