FA Cup Young Reds Put Saints To The Sword In Anfield

A young Liverpool team defeated Championship Southampton 3-0 on Wednesday to secure a spot in the FA Cup quarterfinals against Manchester United.

Thanks to a brace from Jayden Danns and fellow teenager Lewis Koumas who also scored to give the Reds the win.

Bobby Clark played a brilliant pass to the 18-year-old son of former Premier League player and Wales international Jason Koumas on the edge of the penalty box, and he deflected the ball off Jack Stephens to fire into the bottom corner.

Danns, eighteen, scored his first goal for the senior team of Liverpool in the 73rd minute by dinking the ball over goalkeeper Joe Lumley.

Fifteen minutes later, he scored again, latching onto a loose ball after Lumley had parried Conor Bradley’s shot.

The League Cup final took place on Sunday at Wembley, with the eight-time FA Cup winners defeating Chelsea 1-0.

They will play their bitter rivals Manchester United in the last eight on March 16–17.
