Morocco Diaz Dump Spain, Gets First Call Up With Morocco

After choosing to play for Morocco instead of Spain, Real Madrid winger Brahim Diaz was handed hos first international call up on Wednesday.

For this month’s matches against Angola and Mauritania, Diaz was included to Walid Regragui’s 24-man roster, the Moroccan Football Federation announced in a statement.

In 2021, the 24-year-old scored a goal against Lithuania while playing for Spain in one match.

According to FIFA regulations, athletes are free to change their national team provided they haven’t played for that country for at least three years and have made fewer than three appearances for it before turning 21.

With Real Madrid thus far this season, former AC Milan winger Diaz has put up excellent performances, tallying eight goals in 32 games across all competitions.
