Friendly Kenya’s Rising Stars kick-off Four Nations tourney with win

Kenya U20 national team, Rising Stars, kicked off their campaign in the Four-Nations tournament with a 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe at Silver Stadium on Friday.

Elly Owande scored a brace in the match, his first giving Rising Stars an early 9th minute lead. He then doubled his tally in the 30th minute, ensuring Kenya’s advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, Hassan Beja extended the lead with a goal in the 66th minute. However, Zimbabwe managed to salvage a late goal, denying Rising Stars a clean sheet.

Rising Stars are set to play their second match of the tournament against hosts Malawi at Silver Stadium on Sunday.
