After withdrawing from Nigeria’s international duty against Ghana and Mali in Morocco, Super Eagles player Victor Osimhen is back in training with Napoli and could be ready to play against Atalanta.

An old scar that had already prevented him from playing in the 1-1 draw with Inter forced the center-forward to withdraw from the call-up for his country.

Osimhen is not training with his teammates but rather alone with the fitness staff, but he is making progress in his recuperation.

The striker is expected to be available for Saturday’s European qualifying match against Atalanta at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, according to Sky Sport Italia.

He might even begin the game with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Matteo Politano flanking him.

In 24 games for the team this season in Serie A, the Champions League, and Coppa Italia, Osimhen has 13 goals and 4 assists.

Only one of the eleven goals scored in Serie A this season, against Fiorentina, came against a team in the top half of the standings.
