Premier League Chelsea suffer blow as Romeo Lavia to miss rest of the season

Chelsea have confirmed Romeo Lavia will not be involved for the rest of the season.

A stament from the club confirmed: “Midfielder Romeo Lavia is to unfortunately miss the remainder of our 2023-24 campaign following a setback in his recovery.

“Recent medical assessments have confirmed that Lavia, who sustained a significant thigh injury against Crystal Palace back in December, will not feature again this season.”

Meanwhile, the first group Chelsea players returned to Cobham from international duty to rejoin their team-mates in training on Wednesday.

Among those returning to training on Wednesday were England duo Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer, although Ben Chilwell was not involved after playing the full 90 minutes of the Three Lions’ 2-2 draw with Brazil.
