Friendly Mali Beat Nigeria To Hand Finidi First Loss As Interim coach

Nigeria Super Eagles suffered a 2-0 loss to Mali on Tuesday night in a friendly match played in Marrakech, Morocco to hand Finidi George his first loss as interim coach.

Due to two goals in each half of the match between the Eagles, Nigeria lost.

The runners-up in the just finished African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast were unable to force a draw in the first half after E. Toure gave Mali the lead in the eighteenth minute.

Mali prevailed in the amicable encounter thanks to K. Doumbia’s winning goal in the 84th minute.

After Jose Peseiro’s contract expired, this was interim coach George Finidi’s first defeat in charge of the team.

On Friday, Finidi’s first match as manager ended in a friendly victory over the Ghanaian Black Stars.

Otto Addo, the head coach of the Ghana national team, believes the Black Stars were unlucky to play against the Super Eagles after his team lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the international friendly.
