Top News Leicester City Will Not Face Point Deduction

Leicester City, which was demoted from the top flight last season, was referred to an independent commission by the Premier League last month for suspected spending rule violations.

The English Football League (EFL) said on Friday that Leicester City cannot be deducted any points in the second-tier Championship if they are found guilty of any spending rule violations in the Premier League.

EFL has confirmed to all parties that… it does not have the power under the Regulations as currently drafted,” the EFL said in a statement.

Regarding the accusations made against them, Leicester stated that they will keep assisting the Premier League and the EFL.

Any charges against the Club should be properly and proportionately determined, in accordance with the applicable rules, by the right bodies, and at the right time,” Leicester said.
