South Africa Mbombela Stadium To Host 2024 Nedbank Cup Final

The magnificent Mbombela Stadium in the province of Mpumalanga has been chosen to host the Nedbank Cup final for 2023–2024, which is set to happen on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

The Nedbank Cup final will take place at the famed 2010 Fifa World Cup stadium for the second time.

The first was the famous 2011 final, in which Orlando Pirates defeated Black Leopards 3-1 at the same location.

There is even more excitement for the upcoming matches because the announcement was made just after the semifinal draw, which was held on the same pitch as the championship match.

Acting CEO of the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Mato Madlala, emphasised the value of bringing football to nearby nations by choosing Mpumalanga as the host location in association with Nedbank.

“We are thrilled to bring the Nedbank Cup final back to Mbombela Stadium, a venue rich in football history, having hosted memorable matches in the 2010 Fifa World Cup and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

“This is a pivotal occasion for both the PSL and our partners Nedbank as it highlights our joint dedication to expanding football’s reach and impact throughout South Africa.

“Moreover, hosting the final in Mbombela will also cater to football enthusiasts from neighboring countries like Mozambique and Eswatini, thereby boosting tourism in the region.

We eagerly anticipate an electrifying final that will captivate live audiences, as well as those who will tune in on Television and Radio,” said Madlala.
