Nigerian Players abroad VAR Denies Chukwueze A Brace As AC Milan Share Spoils With Sassuolo

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze two goals for AC Milan were disallowed they rallied to a thrilling 3-3 draw away from Sassuolo in Serie A on Sunday.

Thanks to a late equaliser from substitute Noah Okafor.

Chukwueze thought he had pulled one back for his team in the 18th minute after an assist from Rafael Leao but his goal was ruled offside.

Again in the 63rd minute the winger celebration was cut short after a VAR review ruled he was offside .

He was later substituted in the 65th minute for Christian Pulisic.

After four minutes, Sassuolo startled Milan with a goal from Andrea Pinamonti off a flick from Kristian Thorstvedt.

Six minutes later, Armand Lauriente doubled their advantage when his effort was deflected back into his path for a simple finish.

Twenty minutes in, Rafael Leao gave Milan a new lease on life with a solo move that saw him get past two Sassuolo defenders and slide the ball into the far corner to cut the lead.

The action continued in the second half as Lauriente scored again eight minutes into the half, and Luka Jovic of Milan responded with a close-range rebound just before the hour mark.

With six minutes remaining, Okafor, who had just been brought on as a replacement, got the ball inside the box and made a precise shot to give Milan a draw.

With six games remaining, Milan leads Juventus into second place with 69 points.

With 26 points, Sassuolo is in 19th place, which is a relegation spot.
