Basket-ball Year-end Holidays: On vacation, Obama and his family attended a basketball game

les_obama_fetent_noel_reference-300x208It is a tradition for Barack Obama. U.S. President spends every Year-end holiday in Honolulu, in the state of Hawaii, his hometown. And this year, Obama sacrificed the tradition. It is a good basketball game (as Obama is good fan) which welcomed the presidential family.

Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and their daughters Malia (15) and Sasha (12 years), took off Friday, December 20 from Washington aboard Air Force One, the presidential Boeing 747. The plane landed at 23:30 in Honolulu. According to AFP, the Obamas were welcomed by Admiral Samuel Locklear who heads the command of the U.S. Army in the Pacific, the state governor, Neil Abercrombie and Honolulu Mayor, Kirk Caldwell. The president got then engulfed in a car to reach, 50 minutes away, the villa rented for his Christmas vacation.

Sunday, December 22, Mr President and his wife accompanied by their daughters were offered a small break at Manoa Stan Sheriff Center where they attended a basketball game. On the field, battled two university teams including the Oregon State, coached by Michelle ‘s brother, Craig Robinson. The President took place behind the bench reserved for the team, between his wife and his friend Bobby Titcomb. Upon entry in the small gym at the University of Honolulu, Obama was cheered.obamagaa-300x202
A hospitality that had warmed the heart of the U.S. President after a year 2013 particularly difficult politically. However, the President keeps an eye on the White House. “The end of the year is always a good time to think about what we could do better next year. […] I ‘m sure I will have a better idea after a few days of rest and sunshine,” he said during a press conference on the eve of his departure for the holidays.
