Foot Africa Legon Cities FC Coach Bashir Hayford Worried After Losing To Dwarfs

A brace from teenage midfielder Prince Acquah has inspired Ebusua Dwarfs to a 2-1 win over Legon Cities FC. A matchday 6 encounter of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season at the Accra Sports Stadium. Where the capital-based club hosted the team from Cape Coast on 19 December 2020. And the head coach for Legon Cities FC, Bashir Hayford has expressed worry following the team’s latest defeat.

Despite putting up a good fight, Legon Cities FC suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Ebusua Dwarfs at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking in a post-match interview after the game, coach Bashir Hayford says he is very worried particularly regargding his team’s inability to score goals.

I am very very worried about the team. But not disappointed. I identified the problems when I came in immediately. And we have worked on it several times. Probably, we need to do more together.” The Legon Cities FC coach said after the defeat.

I like the aggression that was shown tonight from the boys. But like I said, I am very worried. Because we can’t play six matches and score just two goals [penalties]. This is why I am here and we will keep working on it.” Coach Bashir Hayford added.

With today’s defeat, Legon Cities FC has dropped to the bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
