The Algerian government wants to revive the national sport. Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal pledged support for the nation’s elite Olympic Games 2016 (OJ-2016) in Rio de Janeiro.

“The state will use all necessary means at the disposal of the national elite to succeed at the Olympic Games-2016, which is the major objective. Whoever does not understand this has to go, “said the head of the Algerian government on Saturday during the installation ceremony of the new presidents of sports federations and the Algerian Olympic Committee (COA).

Abdelmalek Sellal called leaders of different federation to hide their disputes and get to work in order to achieve the goals.

“What has undermined federations several years are internal problems. Algeria no more needs that but a leap in quality (…) each of you has an obligation to do everything possible for Algeria and serenity to go together. The Algerian youth needs to regain its place in the world and you have a role to play in this, “said Abdelmalek Sellal.
