The legendary Maracana stadium, renovated, hosted its first game on Sunday. More than 60,000 spectators were in the enclosure to follow the international friendly match between Brazil and England, one year from the World Cup.

A few days before the Confederations Cup, the Seleçao was constrained on a 2-2 draw. Fred 57th and Paulinho (82nd) scored for Brazil. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (67th) and Wayne Rooney (79th) were the scorers of England.
