Do not be astonished! The Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Amokachi is not celebrating his birthday on New Year but he just added another year on Monday (December 30).

The former Everton and Besiktas forward clocked 41-years-old on Monday, but there were no celebrations in the Super Eagles camp as it was simply business as usual.

Amokachi did however give thanks to God for a successful year, both for himself and his family and the successes recorded with the national team.

“I must say I give thanks to Almighty God for always being there for me. He has blessed not only me but my family and even the team we work for, what more can one ask for except to thank Him and ask for long life and more prosperity,” Amokachi said on Monday.

“Honestly, God has been very good to me and I can’t ask for more from Him. I just want Nigerians to help me praise God on my birthday.”
