Premier Soccer League Deon Hotto pens touching farewell to Wits ahead of Orlando Pirates move

Namibia international striker Deon Hotto has written a heartbreaking farewell message to Bidvest Wits as he is set to join Premier Soccer League giants Orlando Pirates.

Orlando Pirates have reached an agreement with Bidvest Wits back to July for the switch of Deon Hotto. Despite the fact that his contract runs until June 2021 with the Clever Boys.

The Buccaneers then signed him on a four-year deal and he is expected to join the Johannesburg outfit as 2019/20 ABSA Premiership ended on Saturday with the coronation of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 29-year-old left winger then took onto social media to say goodbye to club officials, teammates and fans who have been massive for him during his spell there.

“Thank you very much for everything Bidvest Wits. It was an honor to play and be part of this great organization. Proud to have been part of this great family and thank you for believing in me.” Hotto wrote on Twitter.

Following agreement between Pirates and Wits, South African medias investigated on how much will Hotto earn at his new home. And the amount is huge as he will become one of the highest-paid PSL players with the Black and Whites.

“Hotto will become [one] of the best paid players in the PSL. This is a ground-breaking deal. He has always wanted to play for Orlando Pirates and now his dream has come true.” an insider told Timelives.

“His salary will balloon from something around R200‚000 to over half-a-million [a month] next season‚” the insider added.

In addition, Deon Hotto made 39 appearances across all competitions with Bidvest Wits in the just ended PSL season. He scored 9 goals while assisting four times.
