Africa Soccer Rabie Yassin resigns as head coach of Egypt U-20 national team

Egypt U-20 head coach Rabie Yassin has sent his resignation to Egyptian Football Association (EFA) as his team withdraws from the North African Championship.

Egypt U-20 failed to play their first two games against Libya and Tunisia more than the half of the team tested positive to covid-19.

The team should also play against Morocco in the tournament but they have been retrieved to Egypt by a private Airplane sent by EFA.

Then after their arrival, Rabie Yassin resigned from his post as he was affected by the events in Tunisia.

“Rabie Yassin hands his resignation following what happened to him and to the youth national team in the North African Championship,” a statement of the EFA reads.

“Yassin affirms that he will disclose all the facts and behind the scenes matters, with evidence, that caused the national team to lose their chance in representing Egypt in the youth Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup in the coming period.”
